We're expecting the iPhone 15 Pro in September with these 10 new changes
There are only a few months left until the new 15th series of Apple smartphones. It will include two higher-end models, which are expected to be the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. At the moment, expectations are for the premiere of the new models in September, when Apple will officially announce all the news surrounding their range of mobile phones, but until then, we have 10 unconfirmed Apple rumors to share with you in this post.
What new can we expect in the iPhone 15 Pro
New Apple A17 Bionic chipset. which will only be available on the more expensive Pro and Pro Max models. It is expected to be 6-core again with two slower cores for longer battery life and four for faster processes when users use their phone for games. Another interesting detail is that the processor is expected to be made on 3nm technology, which will make it the most optimized processor compared to all the rest of Apple's smartphone range. The more budget models of the 15 series are expected to use last year's Apple A16 Bionic processor. Both processors are manufactured by the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, which is located in Taiwan.
More RAM memory. According to experts, this year from Apple, they will break the ice and raise the operating RAM memory of the higher class of smartphones. In the last three years, the company released smartphones with up to 6 gigabytes of memory. This year, this number is expected to increase to 8GB of RAM, which will improve performance and the possibility of additional active applications in the background.
More ZOOM on rear cameras. Until now, the optical zoom on all iPhone rear cameras was up to 3x optical zoom and 15x digital zoom. According to rumors, Apple will improve its sensors and the optical ZOOM will be increased to 5x or 6x, which will most likely lead to 30x digital zoom. This change will contribute to 50% more zoom on the Pro models of the 15th series.
Improved LiDAR scanner. For the past three years, Apple has used 3D lidar sensors manufactured by the Taiwanese company Win Semiconductor. In the professional models of the 15th series, they are expected to replace the sensor with a new, more energy-efficient one manufactured by the Japanese company Sony. The new sensor is expected to improve the user experience with Apple Vision Pro virtual reality glasses. Other uses for this sensor are: 3D object scanning and night mode photo enhancement.
New red color. According to various sources, this year Apple will replace an old color or add a new one to the current ones in their higher series of smartphones. The sources say that the new red color will be a darker shade and unlike the previous models that used glossy Product(Red), this time it will be in a matte finish. The name of the new color will most likely be Deep Red.
New titanium frame. Apple's latest flagship smartphones were equipped with stainless steel frames, and aluminum was used in the more budget models. Expectations are that Apple will use titanium frames for their smartphones, as they used in their Watch Ultra. The main differences between titanium and stainless steel come from the fact that titanium is an element and stainless steel is an alloy. The properties of titanium are found naturally in the metal. While stainless steel is a mixture of iron, chromium, nickel and other elements.
USB Type-C port. After the European Commission obliged all manufacturers of equipment in Europe to standardize their sockets for charging and data transfer in Type-C (USB-C). Apple confirmed that they are working on implementing the port, but did not officially confirm when exactly we should expect the new port in their phones. The company has been using its Lightning connector for more than 10 years, but it's outdated and supports slower charging and data transfer speeds. Other sources indicate that the speed will be split in two. In the more budget models, it will be normal, while in the higher class models, the loading and data transfer speed will be significantly faster.
WiFi 6E support. It is expected that the support for wireless home networks or WiFi 6E will be built into the new iPhone models. This standard extends the existing Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard and allows access to a new frequency band of 6 GHz. Wi-Fi 6E takes performance features from Wi-Fi 6 such as OFDMA, WPA3 and Target Wake Time and extends them to the 6 GHz bandwidth to provide more continuous spectrum and less interference. With Wi-Fi 6E, enterprises can support new use cases that require multi-gigabit speeds such as high-definition video.
Quick action button. It is expected that a new “action button” will be built into the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max range, which will serve to activate quick custom functions that we can program ourselves. Possible functions for this button will be: battery saver mode, release the flash, turn on/off the sound and others.
eSIM in Europe. An eSIM is a standard digital SIM card that allows you to activate a cellular plan from your carrier without having to use a physical SIM card. You can install eight or more eSIM cards on the iPhone and use up to two cards at the same time. In 2022 when the iPhone 14 was announced, Apple launched phones without a physical SIM card in the United States. There are rumors that the same changes are being considered to enforce electronic eSIM cards for countries in the European market. We strongly doubt this rumor, because the model envisaged for the European Union covers a total of 189 countries, some of which are from other continents and do not yet have a developed infrastructure to support eSIM (electronic SIM cards).
